Located on the west side of the Big Island (Moku o Keawe), on the Hawaiian isles, this ground up residence rests upon an elevated oceanside lot, with breathtaking panoramic views from Mauka (mountain) to Makai (ocean).

Inspired by the island's landscape and materiality, the design expresses both strength and softness, permanence and renewal, creating a harmonious dialogue between architecture, interiors and landscape.

MODERN

POLYNESIAN

This project reinterprets an iconic Polynesian-inspired hale through a considered renovation that balances cultural reverence with a contemporary sensibility. The design introduces a refreshed architectural language - defined by clean lines, open spatial relationships, and a restrained material palette, strengthening the home’s connection to nature and seamless indoor–outdoor living.

REIMAGINED

A Hanalei Bay Beach Bungalow renovation tucked away on a lush private lot, with direct views of the adjacent Hihimanu mountain ridge. Subtle references to the 1970s bohemian aesthetic of the original residence were layered into the design with a contemporary sensibility, honoring the home’s history while introducing a fresh perspective. The result is a retreat that reflects island living at its most authentic - inviting, effortless, and deeply rooted in its surroundings.
