An architecture and interiors studio -
born from a desire to create spaces that shape and nurture the rhythms of life.
Weaving culture, craft, and history into modern form through design inspired by the tropical landscapes we inhabit.
Our studio is located on Oʻahu’s North Shore. While rooted in the Hawaiian Islands,
our work extends globally.

ABOUT US
House of Tropics was established with a clear vision: a multidisciplinary approach that blends architecture, interiors, art, and craftsmanship to create a distinct and cohesive design language unique to each project. Our studio is dedicated to delivering thoughtfully crafted, individually tailored projects that reflect the specific needs and aspirations of each client.
Founder and lead designer Amy Vicente, IISD, LEED BD+C, earned her degree in Architecture from the University of Texas at Arlington and brings 18 years of international experience in architecture and interior design, having worked in Dallas, New York, Sydney, Bali, and the Hawaiian Islands. Her work ranges from global luxury hospitality to island-specific residential design, approaching each project with an artistic eye and meticulous attention to detail and harmony.
Alexander Lipshutz, AIA, NCARB, is a licensed architect in Hawaiʻi with over a decade of experience in residential and commercial architecture. He brings extensive knowledge of project delivery and permit coordination with local authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs). With formative experience as a carpenter and furniture maker, Alexander was drawn to architecture to combine his artistic and technical skills in the creation of the built environment.
